Scoville Blues

Who are Scoville Blues?

In the world of music we have all felt the high energy performance from a band that we don't even know. They seem to be hidden from the main stream of the music business and go about each show kind of under the radar. We like them, we notice them and yes we even remember their name. Its this kind of band that keeps the live music followers alive and wanting more.

When Scoville Blues was launched into the music industry over a decade ago this kind of reaction was common place and echoed in the most common of venues. The fan base quickly grew knowing that this band brought to the stage something different and exciting. The development of the Scoville brand and their tight powerful performance set the tone of things to come. Putting on a show is more than just playing music. Its the feeling of a connection with those who attend the performance and that the bands energy is being given out with each and every song. Scoville is a devoted band with a commitment to excellence.

Their 10 year history is dotted playing with some of the high level names in the music industry. From Rock Hall of Fame Dave Mason, Walter Trout, Spyro Grya, and Chris Cain to Blues/Rock Canned Heat keeps Scoville raising the bar of their accomplishments. Musikfest in Bethlehem Pa, One of the countries largest festivals invited Scoville Blues to perform in 2014 and again in 2015 and are honered to again to return in 2017. With the line up of Lead Vocal David Piersig, Lead Guitar Chal "Clean" Hands, Harmonica/Sax Dave Badgley, Bass Bill Hubbard and Drummer Jim Bowman it is clear that Scoville brings its best to any stage. Lead Guitar/Vox

Chalie "Clean Hands" is a true old soul in the blues. His background and knowledge of blues history rounds out the talent he unleashes at each performance. His guitar is the conduit for the highest energy of red hot solos. Back in the day his time playing with Chubby Checker was a launching pad for the future of his success. Bill
Hubbard

Bass Guitar

Born and raised in Washington, DC, Bill came by his love of the Blues in an unusual way. When he was 10, he asked his Mother to buy him a “Blues” album based on his early exposure to Cream and Hendrix. She came home with a copy of Albert King’s “Live Wire Blues Power” and that was all it took for him to start his life long love of the Blues. He started like many do playing the guitar, a Christmas gift when he was 14. He transitioned to the bass and was in a very successful band in High School named Brew that had a great following in the Washington DC metro area, including regular gigs at Fraternity parties at American University and the University of Maryland.Once out of school, Bill set out on a career and put the bass down for many years. On his 50th birthday, he made the decision to start doing things he liked for a change and bought another bass as a Birthday present to himself. The passion was reignited and he has hasn’t put it down since. He worked his way back up throughout the local ranks, running Blues Jams and playing in many bands in the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia area, including Ball and Chain, The Blues Factor, Blue Waters and fill ins with The Mississippi Pig Farmers. Bill joined Scoville Blues in 2013 and is thrilled to be playing with a great, high energy group of some of the best Blues musicians in the Tri State area.
